"China is only a threat to the US if we make it one. "

Bush just got finished thoroughly insulting the Chinese leader on his visit here. Bush didn't give it full "state visit" status, called China by the name of Tiawan, and despite being know for excellent screening of the crowds he appears before, somehow let a Falun Gong protestor infiltrate the press event and harrass Hu. I'm sure Hu figured this was deliberate. Then, when Hu started to exit the podium by the wrong stairs, Bush grabbed his sleeve and directed him as you would a child!

None of this was missed by the 1.2 billion Chinese.

We can start by balancing our budgets. not borrowing from China and not shipping our jobs to India and China. Kerry was right. We need to punish companies which ship jobs over there, not reward them with tax breaks, and that starts with the whole Walmart economy which has taken over middle American like a heinous small business-eating fungus.
