Coca-Cola Beverage Costs Up 7%, Food 8%

(now mish you were a grocery man - if our food goes up 8% - how long can the trend continue before my coke prices start going down? Bond bubble says these higher input prices can't be passed down to J6P - I see lots of other things going before people give up coke or coffee)

Coca-Cola, which is about 32%-owned by Atlanta's Coca-Cola Co. (KO), said it expects higher commodity prices to result in an increase to cost of goods sold per case of beverages of around 7% and 8% for the food business.

("Australia's Coca-Cola Amatil Expects FY Net A$325M-A$335M" published at 0419 GMT misstated increased beverage and food costs)

You may be right, but that's a separate issue. My point was that it's not really fair to lump the BOJ together with other CBs as a co-culprit behind Russ's crackup boom. Even though the BOJ's policy may have contributed to crackup boom dynamics globally, inflation was not a problem in Japan, so you can't criticize the BOJ for being behind the curve vis-a-vis inflation.
