Finally, the congress goes after gas gougers. But the penalties I see in their bill (capped at 150 million) are too little. The gouging on the west coast in 2000-2001 alone was about 30 billion, and since then it's probably a half trillion. Then what about Halliburton gouging us in Iraq? Isa that included? Also, who investigates and are there any teeth to this bill? Republican from New Mexico sponsoring it? Sounds like the wrong person to be tough on gougers.

Likely, this is just a desperate GOP attempt to distance themselves from the gas gougers who they've been coddling and embracing since day one thanks to the two corrupt oilmen at the top of the ticket.
