The problem is the USA not China and India. Our consumption has gone up faster than theirs. the SUV craze was a big part of it, plus now the war really hurts us. If the Middle East were free of wars, the price would drop 20%. And if the US installed CAFE standards and enforced anti-gouging laws the price would drop another 20%. It would also help to start making nice with Venezuela. Like them or not, they've got the oil and they're much less of a problem than Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Bottomline though we need to get off oil completely within 20 years. Bush talks about that, but doesn't do anything about it. His talk is just a cover-up for his own kowtowing to the gas gougers.
