There is a place near Ellensburg, when you turn up south and up the hill toward Yakima, that make me a bit teary every time I am there. Makes me think of, and sing if I'm by myself, "America the Beautiful"..... It's very pretty, and must be the view that so many of our early settlers saw and loved.

I love that view, coming off Manastash Ridge headed toward Ellensburg. The Kittitas Valley stretches out for miles, with a patchwork of farms.

One time last year, I came over the ridge and the entire valley was covered in fog. I was above the fog, which looked like a giant lake from the distance.

Wish I'd had my camera with me!
