But he was not forced by margin calls to sell (or exchange) ALL the Enron shares he held. That was his original claim..and the claim of his attorney early on. He had options. Frankly, knowing what he did,....I'm not surprised he dumped the shares. Was it Legal? Was it ethical? Did he advise Enron Employees to buy the stock at the same time he was quietly (shhhh?) disposing of 70 million dollars worth? And making choices about how to do so? The closing arguments in the case will be fun to read about. Are not CEO's or Chairmen of Boards accountable for anything? The Ken Lay defense of "I don't know anything" is a sad commentary on our business world.

This is not new, but it brings tears to my eyes every time I read it as it causes me to remember the deaths of some of my friends underneath that flag and fighting for its glory. Lately I have seen some posters whom I think do not have a proper appreciation of it and what it means, and thought I would post this as a sort of rememberance. jdn Subject: Ragged Old Flag I walked through a county courthouse square On a park bench, an old man was sittin' there. She got cut with a sword at Chancellorsville, And she got cut again at Shiloh Hill. There was Robert E. Lee and Beauregard and Bragg, And the south wind blew hard on That Ragged Old Flag "On Flanders Field in World War I, She got a big hole from a Bertha Gun, She turned blood red in World War II She hung limp, and low, a time or two, She was in Korea, Vietnam, She went where she was sent by her Uncle Sam. She waved from our ships upon the briny foam and now they've about quit wavin' back here at home in her own good land here She’s been abused, She's been burned, dishonored, denied an' refused, And the government for which she stands Has been scandalized throughout out the land.
