I wanted Bin Laden DEAD five years ago and Bush promised to get him, so for awhile there I cheered Bush's so-called "war on terror", until it became clear he let Osama go at Tora Bora (for some reason) and was avoiding real terrorist targets while attacking irrelevant targets or boogey men, while actually making terrorism worse and our military weaker.

Just heard Steve Colbert interview a Iraqi combat veteran. He said that some million vets are back from Iraq (but might go back again) and that We The People should listen to them and not the GOP spin-doctors. The message is clear. The mission was never accomplished, and now the mission is so unclear and semingly impossible to accomplish that we have to make some serious changes.

Of course the best change of all would be to changing our commander in chief. But unfortunately we can't do that until December at least. And in the meantime we need a new direction.
