If you were in post WW1 France, you might have written similar stuff while hitler was rearming and occupying the rhineland. Yes Versaille sucked much like our support of the shah did. But the threat back then was proven very real and europe needed to stand up and didnt. And europe didnt out of cowardice and exhaustion and perhaps a bit of guilt that you expect me to have today because bush fp has been a mess. I will not appease iran or fail to offer a credible deterrent because of guilt over past US mistakes. That would be suicidal imho.
