Agree...but there are MANY closed or semiclosed communities, and every little bit would help. Actually I think the saving would be large, because there are so many such communities in the US. And I agree also that for NOW, the hybrids seem to make some sense for the short term. What I don't understand is why the automakers haven't increased the number of miles per gallon a LONG time ago.... Is it too hard? Didn't they think it was necessary? Are they in 'cahoots' with the countries that have the "oooiiilll?" ( There are probably some that think this, but I'm not one of them...) But seriously, why haven't they already done it?
