Hey, Tom...I figured out why you and Ken Lay have so much in common:

1. Arrogant
2. Clueless
3. Claims of no responsibility for actions that take place on your watch...blame it on others.
4. The media is always bad...even Bloomberg or other quality business reporters. Whatever they say is wrong in your eyes (and kenny's)

Let's look at the Ken Lay cash transfers/stock exchanges another way. Kenny boy was provided as part of his compensation by the Enron board (of which he was a part) huge stock grants, options and a line of credit he could draw upon in cash but pay back in (undisclosed) Enron stock exchanges.

The stock grants and options were provided Ken Lay based on PERFORMANCE as Chairman of the Board and (at times) CEO. That PERFORMANCE was a sham....the numbers he signed off on were fraudulent.

Now, Maybe Kenny Boy should not have been granted all those stock rights....but the fact remains that in the last year of Enron's existence he converted over 70 million dollars of such stock into CASH. U.S. Dollars....but he was granted even more stock by the clueless Enron Board (including himself), but Ken kept converting stock to CASH.

Are you aware that thousands of Enron employees what wanted to sell the Enron stock in their 401(k) could not do so suring the critical last months because of a lockdown??? Not Ken Lay! He found a way to still exchange stock for CASH up to the last month.

Is your point that we should feel sorry for Ken Lay because he was left with millons of dollars of worthless stock. If he had done his job correctly, he would not have been in that situaton. Had he reported the actual position of the Company perhaps he would not have been granted all that stock.

Do you Really Think Ken Lay is an innocent party here, Tombot.

Keep on quacking. It may be delusional, but it is entertaining. And you are the "wacky engineer entraordinaire" or whatever your profile says...so I guess the wacky part is right.

An Enron apologist. Amazing.

The question remaining is how can the head of a company not take responsibility for the criminal wrong doing of his company? Isn't that Lay's first responsibility? TIA
