The majority of informed national security professionals in the United States and other major countries sincerely believed, prior to the start of the war, that Iraq had significant covert WMD programs and had proceeded quite far in the biological and chemical arenas in particular.

Okay, let's say you are President of the United States and this is what all the professionals are telling you - and you think that you could do a lot of good in that region if you went in there to do what you what you think is needed.

How much dd and proof of the existence of WMD you think you would demand before asking young men and women to risk their lives and take this country into a very expensive pre-emptive war with all the uncertainties that war entails?
