Republicans are not supportive of the overall needs of the general populace and this is applicable on numerous issues, whether health care, environment, labor, education, etc. Their programs and policies are to overfeed a presumed Christian base by overworking issues like abortion, anti-gayness and anything popular they can tag onto the public, term-limits for example (whatever happened to this part of the Gingrich contract?). They rely on the heavy corporate funding base to nitpick support from independent voters and this just barely gets them over the edge, since society is structured in such a way that half the people don't vote in presidential elections. Democrats, for the most part, come forward with policies that are more sensitive to the needs of the general populace. They tend to put people over profits. There are several issues from the DEM side to which I agree. What I detest, however, is the party politics of the organization. I hate any system where 'the fix' is in and this is why we never truly get a progressive presidential candidate (McGovern, largely due to the war, being the exception). So there's some stuff the Democrats do that I don't like. Libertarians are great, except I know few to many who'll say, "I'm a Libertarian, except when it comes to health care" or "I'm a Libertarian, except when it comes to the environment," etc. But there are some Libertarian positions I truly respect and admire, some of which are actually courageous positions. Now here's what ya gotta do, Gem. You can't simply decide that anyone complaining about this present Oofity-Goofity GOPwinger Administration is a partisan hack. It's a disingenuous thing to do. Why? Because there are enumerous and substantially very sound reasons to oppose this Administration. I encourage you to criticize rather than criticize the criticizers! Finally, you should know this about me. The candidates I vote for rarely, if ever, win. Now, if you're gonna put a 'white hat' on me you can do so because my political leanings come down more green than black.
