It seems like any Chardonnay worth drinking runs at least $16.

Bogle can be found for under $10. It's a great value, especially if you hate the over oaking of chardonnay that's so common today.

A excellent $8-10 bottle of red, perfect for holiday hamburgers or ribs:

Vina Alarba Old Vines Grenache. This wine is one of the better values out there IMHO. It has wonderful black fruit with floral peppery tones, kind of like white pepper I guess. This is also a good wine with honey baked ham. Usually I go with a an alsatian gewurztraminer with ham but this red is a good choice for people who turn up their noses regarding white wines with meat or believe it is a wine's first duty to be red.

May your grill light easily and your wine be wonderful.
