"Bush and Cheney were alcoholics and may not have recovered." Yup. Why repeat this? "Cheney may have been drinking before he shot the guy in the face." It is pretty certain he was. Which is why he went back and immediately started drinking. It still doesn't excuse the fact that Kennedy has a "problem" and he was out driving. The Ambien thing was not a real excuse. I am not aware of any case where the truly odd behavior wasn't caused by Ambien combined with alcohol. Ambien alone will make you goofy if you don't go to bed very soon after taking it.
