If I were a Repub, I'd be solidly behind Hagel. He reflects the best of the currentday GOP, a real maverick unlike McCain who spends a lot of time pandering, posturing and kowtowing.

I suppose the hope with Guliani is that he could take New York and thus deprive Dems of a key state, but yes, he would be hard for the religious right to stomach.
