not to say that americans themselves are so variegated, emphasis on blue-eyed/blonde as a true american has led to massive investment in cosmetics industry... brits ,however, have more come to terms w/ romanic,druidic/welsh and even some jewish antecedents ..... native american (asiatic?) ancestry amongst americans is more pronounced than readily acknowledged..

However, a trained eye can spot the brown from Hyderabad compared to the brown from Punjab. Much of your brain is involved in visual processing eh? The majority of it in fact - when you dream is it the smells or the images you recall? I don't think I ever woke up from a dream remembering smells - but many images. How many schools in america or anywhere are dedicated to the arts of smell instead of the arts of sight? In japan I understand they are combining the 2 by having movies shown with perfumes misting in the theater. My indian friends like incense and burning candles during thier meditation - but I don't see that in the baptist churches - save for the smell of fried chicken - HAHA. We are visual creatures. Cultural and religious diversity is not what I have seen cause the immediate reaction to people of different physical characteristics. People were IMMEDIATELY put off by certain physical features - the cultural and religious differences took time to eat away at them - believe what you will - I still believe from what I have seen that there is far more physical diversity in the USA than I see in places like japan or india or mexico. There may be a slight skin color difference between people from punjab comapared to hyderabad - but that is not in the same league as a person from hyderabad compared to a native african and a native mexican eh? Send all three into a southern baptist church and lets see what the devout christians react too more immediately - thier religion, thier culture, or thier physical characteristics. The internet is a great tool in some regards - visually there is very little to react too here eh? Just the free exchange of ideas unencumbered by the physical characteristics of the messenger.
