ManyMoose, Neither did I, nor would any other sensible person who is even casually familiar with Jimmy Webb's history and other songs/poems he has written. It's an awesomely whacko interpretation of a beautifully poetic love song, IMO. - Holly

I used to have a cassette of that song sung by Richard Harris, and I bet I've heard it a hundred times. Never did I draw the inference that the earth was the 'cake.'

I think I know what your problem is.

You never listened the song while wearing rose tinted granny glasses.

Go pick up a pair, listen to the song again, and report back to the thread.
