Thanks for posting the link. That is the first time
I have seen a prediction of when the benefits
would be exhausted.

As usual the press is focusing on the near term issues
as opposed to the deeper, more far reaching structural issues.

I wonder how much of a reaction this is really going to get.
Most people know the social safety net is not going
to be there when they retire.

The tech boom had everyone thinking they would retire
early. The real estate boom is keeping the dream partially
alive. It will be interesting to see what happen when
the more far reaching reality of lower real estate
price become a fact of life. It won't take much to
have everyone pulling back on consumption and as a result
dramatically slowing the economy. Given the economy has
been consumer consumption driven as opposed to export
drive this time around.
