The problem on the balances shows up because of delays in mutual fund pricing, Canadian, overseas, and pink sheet stocks, and options.

Option pricing during the day will follow the bid, then after hours, revert to the last trade, which might be at a far different price, and maybe a day or 2 old.

Same thing will occur with foreign stocks - Schwab posts the last pink sheet trade. Of course, 2 million shares may have traded in Tokyo or Toronto at a price 10% higher, but they will use the 3 day old pink sheet quote.

Fidelity is a little better than Schwab, but still has similar issues.

If you have only US exchange traded stocks, the tracking is pretty good, except for splits, where there is a 3-5 day delay in posting new shares to you account.

Sometimes Schwab reverses the currency conversion from Canadian to USD. Huge gain, then a huge loss when corrected ;-)

The problem will not go away with Fido.

I don't call, I just wait, and the problem clears up in about 4 days.
