Steve, great post. The difference between liberal intentions and results applies to many other issues, not just "windfall profits" from oil. I'm trying to tell some of the liberals here of the folly of "raising taxes on the rich." Which probably means I should have expected to be called a "friend of the super-rich." Global warming is their big environmental cause, but they will not consider nuclear energy which is the only practical solution to those worries. Second lie, most environmental groups are now supporting nuclear plants. They make it so difficult to build a new refinery that our newest U.S. plant was built in 1976. Third lie; new refineries are not performing assets, so the oil companies are not building them. They would reduce profits if they did. re: Instead, they make solar and wind energy sound like a practical solution to the problem, which it is not. Fourth lie; wind and solar are part of the solution. re: Coal pollutes and is deemed to be “bad,” despite advances in technology that allows for much cleaner burning. Pollution isn't "bad"? Whoever wrote that is an idiot and whoever thinks it makes sense isn't thinking.
