You continue, c2, to wish to debate something you call "rough language" and to argue that the academy doesn't have such but the political arena does.

On the first score, as I've said repeatedly, I'm not talking about "rough" language. If you wish to, just go ahead.

As for the academy not having intense, even personal debates, you simply don't know what you are talking about. It does; sometimes in quite public ways in journals; sometimes in more private ways.

Again, go ahead and talk about "rough language:; just don't confuse my comments with that.

Good grief! I agree with you that it is not one sided. And, while it bugs me, I can tolerate your POV that it is healthy and normal. But to say there is no loss of substance...I repeat, good grief.
