Scott, There are no good reasons to think that Ballard will not do well in the long run, but, It will take some time before there is a public acceptance for broad usage. The recent government push for Ethanol may create some pluses. If ethanol production is cheap and large enough, it can be a source for hydrogen, and if the gasoline mixture with ethanol is adopted by hybrids then future conversion to fuel cells to replace the gas/ethanol engines could be practical. These are all assumptions for the future. Since I am closer to 90 years of age than to 80, I feel they have to hurry if I am to see the final stage of this technology. As you pointed out the general use of fuel cells, such as on fork lifts, emergency back up systems as with the NYC Police Department, Brokerage houses, hospitals and other uses installed to back up during electric black outs. Also there has been some progress in home installation here and in Japan. All this adds to public awareness of the advantages. Jim

Has this board died??? There should be some exciting times ahead. Have you seen the new Mercedes FC car notices? Hybrids, biodiesel, ethanol, and fuel efficiency are all getting a good push to save the planet from global warming and pollution. It will soon be FC's chance to shine and get some positive plugs.
