Arnold, I am in the process of breaking your strictures:

. conservation

I don't object to it and I try not to waste things.

. home-work and home-learning (even part time helps) to save on transportation and extra built space.

I like that, but it's more laziness. Since working involves other people, I think going out to work is better. More sociable.

. live simpler and lowers expectations re buying stuff.

Buying stuff is fun. I had a big buy up yesterday. Bought a washing machine, spare vacuum cleaner, tv and wanted more stuff but ran out of time. Too much to do. No Zen style here. I want a new car too, but that will have to wait.

. reduce destruction to save reconstruction.

Destruction seems pointless, unless it enables reconstruction of better things. I need to dump my car [destroy it, or sell it to somebody who will after wearing it out] to make room for the new. Our old house needs destruction too, to enable two modern houses to be built.

. reduce pomp and ceremony.

I don't seem to get involved with much of that, but I've enjoyed watching people strutting around pomping away.

. reduce travel budgets.

Ooops, I've blown that one. Spending up large on seasonal migration to the other hemisphere this year. 4 of us heading north.

. holiday closer to home.

Not just northern [such as Fiji], we are going all the way to France. As far away as we can get. That should help CO2 levels.

.........................add to the list its endless..

I'm working on it. I can only do so much.
