Congratulations on getting this sorry mess resolved.

It's truly unfortunate that they would not do the right thing in the first place, and only backed down once you went to corporate and threatened publicity.

It certainly influences my decision whether to stay at a Holiday Inn, Express or otherwise, in the future.

RDW, I keep asking myself, "What is it with business these days? What happened to the concept of keeping satisfied customers, if only for their return patronage?" Unfortunately, I have found that this cavalier denial of wrongdoing you experienced with the Holiday Inn people has become the norm. I wonder if it knows or cares how much potential business it has lost here at SI after you posted your story of your dealings with it. I wonder if it even cares.

In any case, I am gladdened to hear you finally got the matter resolved but infinitely dismayed as hearing what it put you through to resolve it.

Reading further down the thread, I too like those quaint bed and breakfasts. If you ever get to Northern California, I know of a few really wonderful ones. - Holly
