there might have been, people were really upset that reagan wa gonna start WW 3 with the Russian. You sure of heard the calls I got from libs after his 'tear down this wall' they wanted to take him out

"yes there was, Reagan was blamed for everything, feeding old people dog food, starving the children, rilling up the Russians, polluting the planet." Sure, those things happened. But there weren't congressmen warning Reagan that he better not visit their state without a bodyguard... I was talking to a German friend who lives in Munich. Some time in the last few months Bush visited Munich. My friend said never has the city been shut down by a visiting dignitary like it was with the Bush visit. He said there was security everywhere.....freeways were blocked off. Traffic came to a standstill. He said that's SOP for every country in Europe when Bush or Cheney visit. Apparently, they must get a lot of threatening mail.
