According to the lecture at the link I posted, the critical temperature change is 5C. That would make it hotter than it's been in a few zillion years, don't remember the number of years. So the eleven degrees projection would be literal scorched earth.

I think that e illustrated the key point on this, which is that folks think, correctly or not, that if we're not shocked and scared we won't devote any effort to even research let alone mitigation. But that brings problems of an overselling backlash. So is it a good strategy or not?

Interesting conclusion.

All of the climate scientists we spoke to fervently believe global warming is being caused by human activity. Many agree there's also a major problem with alarmism.

The BBC, that establishment voice, would no doubt be delighted to hear itself described as Green/PC :-)
