Kerry did not blow it. He may have made a few mistakes, under intense pressure and a frantic deadline, but he won all three debates, out-raised Bush then came within 55,000 votes (one state) of beating Bush despite being up against the most dishonest, down and dirty campaign in US history, and remember no war-time president has ever been beaten and Bush used that war to hang onto political power in a very major way. Plus, Bushies withheld all sorts of bad news from the public until after the election. Any othe Dem in 2004 would have lost by a landslide except maybe Wes Clark who did not win any primaries. In 2008, not only will the smearvets lies be useless to the GOP, but the war will either be over or close to it, so the GOP won't be able to use that "weak on defense" BS, which was their entire campaign against war hero/military expert Kerry. Also, if the Diebold machines in Ohio were tampered with, then Kerry really did win. Even without that, it's estimated Bushies stole about 40,000 votes in Ohio alone through various dirty tricks like not putting enough voting machines in democratic precincts, and calling thousands of black families to tell them they're not registered. All that said, any democrat would be a huge improvement, and I am also eyeing Mark Warner, but I need to know more about him first. And we also need someone strong on foreign polivy and military experience, and that's Kerry.
