No it wasn't.

It was lower, but "significantly lower" exaggerates the difference.


For the unemployment rate which usually is in single digits a drop of .07 to 1 pt. drop is significant. From the current rate of 4.7%, that would be the equivalent of a 15% to 21% drop. That's not an exaggeration.....it's significant.

Also the period you are talking about was before the NASDAQ crash. (The crash started near the end of that period.) <?I>

So what.....unemployment didn't start going up until 2001.
