looks like one of these typical garbage sites where you get a story that is inaccurate at the very least, and borders on lies, with some agenda which of course is never disclosed

i've never looked at UFPT before, but a quick glance shows they disclosed right in their news story (which was issued in late april, not concurrently with their earnings report) that the acquisition they were doing brought with it a book of business worth about 1M...the gargoyle people didn't need to consult dun and bradstreet to learn this, they only had to go back a couple news items in the yahoo list <g>

basically every company in existence includes phrasing in their 10-K that says, we are making money now but we can't promise you we always will...that's called SEC regulations and full disclosure...it's also something that bashers often point to, to try to make a case against a stock/company, so it's interesting that it appears in this lame story

the fact that their targeted acquisition has "only 15 employees" is meaningless as well...almost all small to medium sized manufacturing businesses use services to hire contract employees anymore, it saves on costs when they have to be laid off if and when the industry and/or economy slow down

UFPT made almost as much in Q1 as they did for all of either of the past two years, so it could certainly be argued that an investor should be wary of buying into this kind of price move until the company demonstrates that it can continue to post these kind of results

that said, it seems pretty likely that this report by gargoyle is motivated by something other than their heartfelt desire to protect individual investors <g>

reading the story on DXPE, i find the same kind of distortions (a company that is currently making over $2M a quarter is going to have trouble servicing debt that is costing them about one tenth of that per quarter? probably not), though again, i don't follow DXPE very closely
