<<lumpens will hoard silver -- ravenously and rapaciously -- as they will not be able to afford gold...>>

speaking of whom and what, i wonder how Mq is doing with his Q :0)

Oh, not so well I see, as in stuck in neutral, to be kind, or, going backward, to be real

Do Central Banks buy much silver? I would imagine it takes up too much space to store efficiently in quantity vis a vis gold.

So far, it has been the more informed, the dollar bears, and the conspiracy theorists who have been buying silver.

"Lumpen Proles" are supposedly different from peasants, who do have enough sense to buy gold.

A number of Mexican workers buy gold in various forms, having learned not to trust their government's financial manipulations.

I would assume that Lumpen proles mostly buy lottery tickets ;-)

It also seems that the term "lumpen proletariat" is frequently used by various "revolutionary vanguards" as slur against anyone who will not go along with their fruit cake ideas....

Back to silver - I think it will become the play toy of the hedge funds before the central banks move. Sort of like a pack of dogs playing with a chew toy.
