Quit defending the energy crooks, you lowlife.
Don't you know defending guilty criminals makes you an accomplice? Bush-cheney may be less popular than OJ Simpson, but it doesn't mean you have to go on defending proven crooks.

Gas taxes go back to The People. They are not a factor in this. Those taxes are then used to build the roads cars run on. Without roads gas and cars aren't much good. if we took away those taxes our roads would fall apart, people would crash and tires would blow out. You want that?

Now we need to triple gas taxes and use the money to replace gas as our primary fuel. Then reward those who go green and punish those who guzzle and pollute. So if you go green you save and if you don't you pay. The carrot and the stick approach. Fair enough?

And we also need to tax oil cokpanies for their obscene profits and collect about 200 billion which they have stolen from us. All countries in the world should do so in fact.

Did I mention that oil company profits on gas are but a fraction of the taxes on gas?

What is your point? Are you suggesting that the taxes be lowered? We're having a hard time keeping up with road maintenance on the current level of taxation. What good would gasoline be if there were no roads to drive on?
