I don't know that they want to figure it out. I think when you talk gouging and manipulation and collusion, you imply there is a political solution, which somebody can resolve by the proper law, or investigating the right people, and, viola, gas will go back to $2.50.
When you start talking geological constraints, we become powerless to correct the situation, and then, you begin to feel like I do....HELP!!

Sp you jump on a political fix, and feel better, and hate the oil companies. And, you may even believe God will never let us run out. That helps, too :>).

Or maybe you make your livelihood by finding political answers, or by convincing people geology isn't a problem, nor is CO2 in the air, nor tobacco in the lungs.
