i found the summary of the iran pres 15 page letter to pres bush very interesting in a number of respects. 1. very anti western democracy 2. he appealed to bush religious convictions. 3. he included the jews along with christians and muslims as the worlds three great monotheism religions. 4. In doing that he seemed to try to separate the anti zionism from the anti semitic views he seemed to exhibit earlier. 5. He showed a great deal of ignorance about international issues. 6. He doesnt seem to have the gut level hatred of america that bin laden has 7. If we are from mars iran is from venus but men andwomen get along with these same constraints. Its not like the heaven hell dichotomy we have with al quaeda. 8. all in all opening a dialogue even as weird as this one is, may be helpful long term. I continue to maintain that this guy is a populist of sorts and in some ways is more liberal than the mullahs eg. the women in sports stadium dispute.
