re: That the writer chooses to express this item as "that is the lowest approval rating for any president in the last half-century, other than Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter." perhaps indicate an anti-Bush agenda?

Of course it does, she's an op-ed columnist. You know "Opinion-Editorial".

Let's compare apples with apples. The only other TWO TERM American President to EVER go as low as 31% was Richard Nixon, who reached 28% just before resigning. The others were one-termers on their way to not being re-elected.

I have every confidence that Bush can beat Nixon's low polling record. He's got 2 1/2 more years to screw up and be incompetent. I'd GLADLY Bring Nixon back from the dead and install him in Bush's place, for the sake of the country, if possible.

Uhmmm, is another way of phrasing the above statistic something like "Four of the past seven presidents have had the same approval rating that Bush currently enjoys at some point during their presidency"?

Actually, four out of ten, not seven presidents since 1950. The comparisons start with Truman.

That the writer chooses to express this item as "that is the lowest approval rating for any president in the last half-century, other than Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter." perhaps indicate an anti-Bush agenda?

Maybe.......but it doesn't change the fact that Bush sits in the bottom 40%, and he has 2 1/2 more years to go. How does that make you feel?
