re: I think the chances that 90% of all cars get 30MPG or better in 5 years is close to zero. 15 years maybe, under the right circumstances maybe 10 but that would be a rather extreme change. 5 years? Too many of today's cars will still be on the road in 5 years.

It was an "If... then what do you think" question, never said it would happen. With the current leadership, there isn't a chance in hell.
