As a matter of fact, yesterday I saw a book called "The Great Missoula Flood" by Dave Alt. I recommend it even though I haven't read it, because I have several other books by Alt. They are written for the layman, not the geologist. I had a class from Dave Alt in 1973, and he was probably the most outstanding professor I've ever had. If I had had the same class from him before I started forestry school I'd have become a geologist. I still remember almost everything he taught. I saw the book at Fred Meyer's. Amazon apparently doesn't have it yet.
