Elmat,
During your stay in Dubai did you get any new ideas as to the state of ME oil? I know in one post you mentioned some comments you heard. IS Simmonds right or is he just pumping up oil prices and selling books? On CNBC this morning he implied that even the Saudi current shipment data is suspect. Damn, if they overstate their current production what does that say about whatever reserve estimates they release?

Philippine President Arroyo made a state visit to Saudi this week. Filipino leaders are famous for making stupid statements but she may have them all beat. In a speech she stated that a major objective of her visit was to "help the Philippines achieve energy self-sufficency". What a joke as the place produces barely a drop of oil with little prospect of finding any, or much of anything else for that matter. Guess her speechwriter borrowed a favorite line from Dubya.
