You are right, your post does have nothing to do with my post. I don't believe I am misinformed at all, and your prior criticism remains rather silly. Your current thoughts are highly suspect too. It will not do to pick partial bits and pieces to make a case (unless one is a true-believer unwilling to examine the big picture). Oil Companies spend heavily to keep it coming, and these capital expenditures deduct from your so-called profits. Refining has been a business experiencing both losses and profits in given years. It's not bright to attempt to cut the profits via government intervention when they can be had. These are the people who get the job done with those profits.

The best way to save gas is to make more efficient cars, something Bushies have fought since day one. The Kerry-McCain CAFE standards bill should have been passed. If it had it would have taken us a big step toward being off Arab oil. It would have saved us more oil than is in all of Alaska. It's mandatory we double the efficiency of all our machines ASAP.
