I know exactly where they were ... I've camped in that canyon before. If you keep heading downhill, you come to a huge cliff. There is no way down without technical gear (a rope).

Donovan shouldn't have been anywhere near that spot. He was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail - he should have been on the other side of the mountain.

Donovan either got lost in a snow storm last May or decided to take a detour. I'm sure no one has searched that canyon for his remains - until now. They will probably find him this week since the weather is great.
