Looking at Intel's recently filed 10Q (5/8/06):

page 17 of 183: [Tax Matters]: "If the IRS prevails in its position"
1999-2002: additional $1B in taxes, plus interest
2003-2004: additional $800M, plus interest (new in Q1'06)

2005: additional $400M plus interest if IRS makes similar claims

At a 5% interest rate, these taxes would amount to $2.65B or 32% of Intel's cash+short term investments+marketable securities.
