All indications is that the civilians told the military to base their plans on the Iraqis welcoming us with open arms. We'd topple Saddam, build our bases and the Iraqis would peacefully rebuild under our direction. They most emphatically didn't plan on things dragging out like they have been.

That's right.......Rumsfeld told us the war may last "six days, six weeks but no more than six months". Why do you think the butthead was challenged in Atlanta? Oh yeah......that's right.......you think it was just a political game. Why don't you go watch some South Park.
