Ted, Yes, I think the Security Council should place sanctions on Iran......and it sounds like they are moving in that direction.

I've got mixed feelings toward sanctions, because they end up hurting the citizens, and the wackos in power will continue to thrive, especially as they blame sanctions on "American imperialism."

From what Mani has heard from his folks and told me, and from what has been told to me by Iranians I met at school, most Iranians live in abject poverty. I may be wrong but I don't think sanctions hurt them all that much. They are so far down the food chain and conditions are already so bad for them, its impact is not that significant.

What infuriates me about Iran and other countries like it is that they have so much untapped potential that is being squandered. Before, it was the Shah and his minions accumulating all the wealth, and now its the Ayatollahs and their minions. Its infuriating because there is more than enough natural resource wealth in Iran to go around, but instead, they refuse to share with their people. Its sickens me.
