There have been a few cases, but generally once they're gone, they're gone.

Lincoln suspended habeas corpus at the start of the Civil War. It was restored after the war ended.

If the gov't said it assumed the right under discussion only for "the duration of hostilities", I would look at it differently. But that's not what they're doing. They're asserting a general, permanent gov't power.
