MD, Again, it gets back to the right to be left alone and the right to be secure in ones papers and other possessions and thoughts (or some such).

With that in mind, the fact that you or I or anyone else on this thread has done nothing wrong and therefore has nothing to hide, we should have no fear of intrusive and invasive investigations into our person or property, right?

A cursory study of the history of our criminal justice system will prove your stance riddled with exeptions on both sides. - Holly

I keep waiting for someone to come forward who claims he/she has been damaged by the so-called "domestic spying" initiative that was the subject of the last criminal leak of sensitive classified information.

These leakers better watch out what they're doing. They could end up in the slammer, and there might even be a push to go after the papers that are publishing this information (under the Espionage Act).

Read: MSM better watch out what they're about. The law of unintended consequences (otherwise known as Plame's Law) might kick in.
