"Even if you take your idiot version of "all mystics""

Your speech has degenerated into that of a blubbering idiot. It was YOU who waltzed in here with a moronic pretense to having some mystical knowledge that you claimed authority for with the timeless false logic of the appeal to authority. Your "ALL mystics" marked you as uneducated, pretentious, and misguided. Your spelling, your grammar, and your incoherency all confirmed the obvious. Such a special mix of gullibility, greenness, and arrogance was a guarantee that your nose would get out of joint.

"I listed: Christ, Buddha, Lao Tzy, etc."

Again, you display a colossal ignorance and a naive gullibility. The names you have just listed all said many contradictory things. Mtstics (whether they lived or were merely invented) tended to equate their special "knowledge" to visions, voices, or direct revelations. We just had an example given by "Solid" in "A Course In Miracles" which was purported by the mystic to be dictated by that other mystic--JESUS!!-- :-)

If you had any sense of proportion or humility, you would have said something like this:

"Hi, my name is DAK. I don't know very much about various religions but am willing to learn. I have tended to follow various cults and have read a bit in blue sky books. Just trying to find some meaning and direction.

I am really interested in spirituality because I have become somewhat disillusioned with organized religions. I often use Christianity as a support for my spiritual leanings, but I don't really believe in Christianity--I just believe in PARTS of the bible. I think Jesus was nice...

I would like to learn more about mysticism. It attracts me because it cannot be challenged by science and it paints a picture of some sort of living beyond. SOME of the mystics I have read say SOME things that I hope are true. How does one go about evaluating the truth of what a mystic says??

BTW, Solon--I have a big temper and my feelings are hurt very easily, so please don't talk down to me."

Your friend, DAKKY!

"I think I'd stick with "genuine"."

What was unauthentic about the Hale Bopp mystics?
