DVW: Covad: Time to pull the trigger, build position on recent
pullback -
Kaufman (1.90)

Kaufman notes that despite the strong earnings report from DVW on
April 28,
the stock continues to pull back. They think this downward movement
is simply
momentum driven and is not reflective of fundamental concerns. Mgmt
remains
very upbeat about traction, the pipeline and execution and, in their
view,
there is no fundamental driver of the recent weakness. Firm says that
although
DVW has historically been focused singularly on the provision of
broadband
access over the past year and a half, it has transitioned to an
integrated
data and voice solutions provider. As such, firm says the risk
profile for DVW
is quite different than it had been as a pure DSL alternative. They
think this
misunderstood profile has contributed to the recent pullback in the
shares and
provides an opportunity to get involved at an attractive entry point.
They
continue to view DVW as an attractive takeout tgt and believe that the
combination of its unique network, national reach, and voice, data and
wireless expertise and capabilities position DVW as an attractive
asset. They
recommend building positions at current levels.
