Itsy~

Let's see....
Well, I am spending my days wandering around here at the farm
photographing insects and other critters.
We're about 2 weeks ahead of normal on almost everything.
Seeing butterflies that aren't usually out much before June.
Haven't had the canoe out at all this year, but then we don't
usually put it in the water much before the Victoria Day weekend
(guess that's Memorial Day weekend down there, right?).
The water is generally so cool before that, especially on the lakes,
that I wouldn't want to tip (wouldn't want to in any case,
but especially not when it is too cool).
However, this year, I'll bet the smaller creeks are getting pretty
warm already.
Last weekend was my first long walk (2 hours) in a park
and it was terrific to be out in the woods.
Don't think it's quite time to take the canoe out just yet...
but probably not too much longer. We'll see.

Looking forward to lots of hiking and canoeing this summer though.
Have already started figuring out a bunch of good canoe and hiking trips,
and we're also beginning to make plans for going to Nova Scotia...
probably in July. Probably do quite a lot of hiking again, same as last year.
Might try to hike some sections of the TransCanada Trail in various places.
I may go up to Lake Superior to do some hiking with one of my hiking sidekicks.
All in all, it's probably going to be an "outdoors" kind of summer this year.
Environment Canada is predicting a long, hot, dry summer for this region...
so I intend to make the most of it. <g>
