My reading of what conservatives are saying is that the one non-negotiable position Bush can take is "no amnesty."

I don't think he will do it, but the one position he can take that has majority support is to really close the southern border.

I don't think we can deport that many people either. That is silly. BUT I do think we'd better secure the borders just pronto....and keep them secured. Then make some provision for the people who are here to get proper documentation to be here and work. And they can go to the back of the line to become a citizen LEGALLY.
