CJ, I only bring it up because you brought up the "system of checks and balances," as if such a system is a guarantee that government won't overtax the citizens. All you need is to convince 51% of the population that high taxes is a good thing. Then when the economy stagnates because free enterprise is stifled, you'll ensure that most of the population has to depend on the government. At least with the way Bush supposedly infringes upon our freedoms (which itself is debatable), it's easy to just vote the bums out of office and get new leaders who will reinstate those freedoms. But it's just not that easy when it comes to the economy. Tenchusatsu
