While I'm loath to actually weigh in on this discussion, I just have to make an observation.

Remember all the brouhaha about the claimed failure of the Bush Administration to prevent 9/11?

Seems like some folks demand prevention but are leery of really taking serious steps to accomplish it WRT terrorist activity.

This is not to say that a government cannot go overboard in the name of security---which is always a risk---but how do those lines get drawn?

If another major attack occurred tomorrow, the fingers of blame would be pointing all over the place.

I sure can't argue those points.

But, to add my own observation, I'd say that the people who are safest from external assault are those in prison. <G>
